Virtuality to Physicality

Did You Know; Shift Happens:

Having recently read Kurzweil’s The Age of Spiritual Machines, all I see is exponential technological change. Could this be an illusion created by my late intake of related data? Perhaps, but one effect of our "Web 2.0" mentality seems to be finding uses of technology that affect lots of people at once, and this seems very real from where I sit.

Sites like Twitter, for example, have given rise to a number of daughter sites, like Twitterverse and Twittervision, which I find far more interesting than Twitter itself. Search Google for mashups and you can find a host of other 2.0 applications. This suggests to me that the Web is exponentially reaching out into our lives, blurring the line between virtuality and physicality.

Badu 4, Google 3

After noticing from here that Badu.com is fourth in the Web’s top 500 websites, right under Google, I had to visit it. The name "Badu" was vaguely familiar to me, but I had no memory of having visited it. I chose to play chess, and I won!
