At Google, two apparent CSS goals are speed and accessibility. Here is google.com’s CSS code:
body,td,a,p,.h{font-family:arial,sans-serif}
.h{font-size:20px}
.h{color:#3366cc}
.q{color:#00c}
First, notice that each class is one letter long. Some developers write classes for clarity, but Google’s developers must have agreed that consistency prevents ambiguity. Why waste space with long names, like .www_google_com_main_header? I agree.
