Universcale by Nikon 3/31/07
Universcale is an interactive, Flash-based presentation created by Nikon Corporation in Japan. The presentation is spectacular and the concept is simple. The concept of this presentation is that humans learn about nature by measurement and association. This concept is interactively illustrated using a horizontally navigated, bidirectional, multilayered grid structure in which various items representative of various, progressively larger and smaller physical sizes are placed side by side for comparison and exploration. If you are curious and have 15 minutes to spare, visit Universcale.
As an aside, you will probably notice that Nikon uses some of its newest technologies along the way. Personally, I have no problem with this given the presentation’s quality. However, I would agree that Nikon could have just as well omitted these blatant product placements and seen equal or better results with regard to brand loyalty and consumer trust.
